Next Thursday – 18 September – Andrew Huggett will present his talk ‘Chasing the Shadow’. The shadow in question is that caused by total solar eclipses when the moon blocks out the light from the sun.
His chase has taken him to Turkey, Zimbabwe, Libya, USA and most recently (with Janet Beech) to Canada. He will discuss the equipment used as well as the changing quality of the ambient light and the effect on each location (including a grassy plain, a riverbed, the Sahara desert, Grand Teton National Park and a parking lot). He will also show some of the travel photography taken during those trips.
