A wander around the fields at Lowerhouse to learn about using layers in our compositions. Think about how to use two or three distinct areas within a composition – it might be foreground, mid-distance (our main subject) and background – or the main subject might be in the foreground slightly obscured (or cropped as in the main image above) or framed by other elements. Consider bringing a moderate wide-angle prime lens (f2.8 or faster) if you have one as well as bringing a normal zoom lens – something like a 24-70mm kit zoom (full-frame) or it’s cropped-sensor equivalent.
