I too love the texture of the foreground rock but feel that the close-up is a little too close. I would be tempted to take a ‘halfway house’ approach. My take is to keep the crop ratio the same, enlarge slightly and mask off the right hand of the shot and the sky. Enhance the rock’s texture, sharpness and colour slightly, but reduce the saturation of the sea so that it doesn’t pull your eye away from the subject.
